Pelicans on Parade (POP!) Introduction

Kathy Larson and artist friends conceived of the Pelicans on Parade (POP) project in 2005 to increase interest in birding and wildlife in the Klamath Basin and to connect kids to nature.  Each artist created an original design for one of 18 seven-foot tall resin cast pelican statues, originally designed and built by Stefan Savides, world-renowned bird artist.  Each pelican sold returns funds to the artists and to the "Connect Kids to Nature" grant program in the local schools. (To request a grant application, email president@klamathwingwatchers.org)

You can see Pelicans available for sale at the Discover Klamath Visitor Center at 205 Riverside at the start of the Wingwatcher trail. If you are interested in purchasing a pelican to support our grant program, please email Kathy Larson.  All offers will be considered. Purchases may be eligible for tax deductions and matching contributions to the Oregon Cultural Trust.
